A Generous Couple Creates Their Legacy at Huntington Hospital

Bernie and Adrienne Rosof have been active in the Huntington community for several decades. To express their gratitude for excellent care and to ensure that care continues to be available, they established three charitable gift annuities for the ultimate benefit of Huntington Hospital.

Bernie and Adrienne met while undergraduates at NYU. Adrienne earned a BS in Business and a master’s in Counseling and served as the executive director of the New York State chapter of the American College of Physicians. Bernie earned an AB and an MD, completing a residency at Buffalo General Hospital, Maimonides and Yale University, specializing in internal medicine and gastroenterology.

Bernie is chairman of the Board of Trustees at Huntington Hospital. This honor is a capstone to a storied career that includes 29 years in private practice in the Huntington community, nine years as senior vice president of Medical Affairs and a stint as senior vice president at the Northwell Health.

“Huntington Hospital is our community hospital and the place that I devoted my career to,” said Bernie. “As a Board member and now chairman, I wanted to set an example for others by establishing a gift that provides income to Adrienne and me for our lives but ultimately benefits Huntington Hospital.”

Adrienne and Bernie grew up in the Bronx and Brooklyn, respectively, and “We both root for the Yankees!” They enjoy travel, the opera and spending time with their three children and six grandchildren.
